Polymer
Type
Thermoplastic
Advantages
Very high flexural modulus, tensile
strength, notched izod impact strength,
maximum operating temperature, heat
distortion temperature and low mould
shrinkage compared with unmodified
PET.
Disadvantages
Significantly reduced elongation at
break compared with unmodified PET.
Incorporation of glass fibres can
cause anisotropy in mouldings.

Applications
Parts for cookers, domestic light
fittings etc, where retention of physical
properties and colour is important.

casings.
